Boldly Inlaid Federal Period Portsmouth, N H Secretary American Ca. 1790 A dazzler with contrasting feather patterned branch birch and mahogany. Even the front feet and facing of the writing surface supports are inlaid. Bold inlaid patriotic shields inlaid in the center of the long drawers. The edge of the writing surface and the upper section have a complicated patterned inlay I have seen on many Southern New Hampshire Federal forms. The writing surface has new wool baize installed. Price $19,500 Condition Very good + antique condition. Retains much of an early finish that has been cleaned and lightly French polished over. Only minor repairs and small wood replacements.
