A superior example of its type made in the Boston/Salem area from the best quality mahogany. I have only been able to find one example that appears to be the same model in the 1902 book "Furniture of the Olden Time" by Francis Clary Morse illustration #266. Note the half lyre carvings at the the top of the legs, the applied moldings on the back and sides and the embossed brass casters. For those who
do not prefer the sewing basket it can be detached from the
frame.
