Set Of 8 Federal Style Mahogany Dining Chairs American 1920's The design of these chair backs are taken from an early classical design associated with late 18th century Hartford, Conn. See "The Great River" published by the Wadsworth Atheneum cat. #152 for this design. Heavy mahogany with a pleasing original finish. The chairs have tight joints. All have been cleaned, the crazed finish consolidated and are ready for upholstery. The carving of the urns and flower heads are the equal of the 18th century originals. Price $5,500 Condition Overall very good condition for their age. Finish crazed and normal dings with even finish inconsistancies that give them a genuine 200 year old look.
